Wine 101: The Walla Walla Valley

May 18 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

What *is* it about Walla Walla that produces so many excellent wines? Attend this class and find out! There’s absolute science behind why those reds and whites are so expressive, and why so many people are willing to drive (and even fly) the distance to come back with cases of Walla Walla wines. It’s also why at Syndicate, we carry so many eastern Washington and Oregon wines and blends for your palate’s pleasure.

The Walla Walla Valley is a fascinating part of the Pacific Northwest’s commercial winegrowing world. Tucked away in a quieter part of both eastern Washington and Oregon States, it is a land as bold and expressive geologically and climatically, as the wines produced there.

It is a space that reminds us of the many factors shaping a grape as it goes from vine to bottle, the intricate balance of colliding energies and influences, and the breathtaking range of wines and styles coming out of a young, yet diverse winegrowing region.

In this class, we examine what makes the Walla Walla Valley so distinct; The wines and styles of winemaking evolving on boths sides of the Washington and Oregon border; And, we sample eight distinct wines from the region, including the Oregon sub-appellation known as The Rocks District.

Price of the class includes education and course materials, flight of wines, and special discounts on to-go bottle sales of the wines presented.
