Description
Aromas: Baked strawberry, brambleberry, stewed tomato, savory mesquite, bread crust, bacon fat, leather, forest floor, and peppercorn.
Flavors/experience: Dry; Medium-high acidity; Medium bodied. Black cherry, fleshy red plum, and huckleberry. Herbal and earthy tannins show thyme, grilled mushroom, and umami, with a satisfying finish of wet stone and asphalt minerality. Very good quality.
Specifications: 100% Montepulciano grapes from vines averaging 25-35 years old, from the Italian appellation of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo D.O.C. Aged 18 months in 80% stainless, 20% Slavonian oak barrels. 13% alcohol.
