In this class, we examine what makes the Walla Walla Valley so distinct; The wines and styles of winemaking evolving on both sides of the Washington and Oregon border; And we sample eight distinct wines from the region, including the Oregon sub-appellation known as The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater (aka The Rocks District AVA, which we will use for the sake of brevity).

It’s guaranteed to be a fun and tasty class, lasting about an hour, with opportunities for special bottle prices to-go afterward!

Description

This class covers the Walla Walla Valley, and a sub-appellation, The Rocks District AVA. To prepare, you will want to source the following eight (8) wines from those two regions. Most of the wines are available in the Pacific Northwest wine market. If you cannot find them, a suitable alternative is to source other wines from the same AVAs. Vintage is not as important as the appellation!

This content focuses on wines from the Walla Walla Valley. Class 22 focuses on Red Mountain AVA, a distinct winegrowing region approximately one hour west of Walla Walla Valley. Grapes there are subject to a considerably different microclimate, but will appeal to a similar palate as wines from this session. It is available for purchase and download through this online store.
