Since the dawn of time, wine has been integrally linked with human civilization. Where there has been conflict, often times grapes have been the cause. In this class, we look at noteworthy wars, economic battles, and political strife of the past thousand years of human history, and sample nine different wines at the center of said conflicts.
This particular session covers a tremendous amount of content, all originally composed by David, co-owner. In between learning, there’s lots of engaging conversation. The wines themselves are incredible, including a French Sauvignon Blanc that almost won the first wine tasting competition 800 years ago; The very Napa Chardonnay that won the 1976 Judgment of Paris; A Burgundy used to trick Nazis during World War II; A Nebbiolo from a region of Italy at the heart of a wine tariff war in the 1800’s; A Chianti from the very location two soldier settled the land dispute between the kingdoms of Florence and Siena; and the one and only Black Chicken, made famous during post-Prohibition bootlegging in California.
Even if you’re just here for the wines and not the learning, we guarantee you’ll have an incredible time. Join us!
