Aromas: Dark raspberry fruits, savory dried herbs, coffee, and smoke.
Flavors/experience: Baked plum, dried cherry, and modest acids meet subtle tannin. A lingering finish with a touch of salinity begs another sip.

Back story: The name, “Kanonkop” comes from a 17th Century term in which a cannon (kanon), situated atop a hill (kopje), was fired when a trade ship entered the nearby bay. This would alert farmers to bring their produce to the market, for trade with the ship and crew.
